I'm really excited about the conference! Am I the only one that wishes it was a full week? It's going to be hard to absorb all of this information - especially with simultaneous sessions going on.
Are you planning on recording all of the talks/sessions, so we can see what we missed?
I suggest having Corvida Raven speak (http://shegeeks.net/about/). She is a great public speaker and has a wealth of information about social networking, blogging and how to make the most of your time on-line. I am sure she can have this relate to personal finance as well from a techies perspective. Just a thought.
Joan - Great suggestion. This is a topic that I'm hoping Julia Scott will tackle on some level since she's from the big media world and always seems to be able to get herself and her blog on TV/in print.
I come at personal finance blogging as a "side hustle," as it were, but my full-time job is in media/publishing... wonder if your group would benefit on sharing success stories on dealing with the media, publicity, especially as it relates to new technology like news organizations' mobile/tablet apps and social media!
Let me put it this way - I WISH more digital entrepreneurs knew how to successfully pitch mainstream media!
Very excited about this... have often thought how cool it would be to get all of the popular personal finance bloggers together in one spot. I signed up for the conference today and look forward to meeting everyone!
I'd like to see a session on anonymity in personal finance blogging... whether you should reveal your identity, or not, and what you should do if you're outed.
I would love to attend something like this! There's only a few blog conferences here in Australia, foodie ones and we just had our first "Aussie Bloggers Conference" which was more a mummy bloggers conference.
Its so cool you are organizing this. If I happen to be in the USA in October (which is very possible, I'll know soon) I will definitely register and fly to it!
I'd love to hear more about "Improving your finances through blogging" from - LaShanda Henry (Web media & Marketing Expert): http://www.sistasense.com/about-sistasense-aka-lashanda-henry/
Also, it'll be a treat to hear Daniel Scocco of Daily Blog Tips speak about building a great blog/writing good content: http://www.dailyblogtips.com/about/.
Looking forward to this conference!
@Briana - I'll definitely need help deciding on speakers and topics. I'll try to handle that process organically here on the blog. As for logistics, I have it covered so far. As we get closer to conference time though I may have a specific need. I'll let you know. Love the topic idea.
Hey PT, do you need any help planning it? I'd love to help out. Also, would love to talk about using social media as an extension to your blog.
@Brad - I agree that there will be much interest in that aspect of running a blog. I'm confident we can get some speakers and sessions to really expand into advanced discussions about this area.
Think 'monetizing' could be heavily expanded. Everyone's in this for the money (no matter what they say ;)) and being able to do it right, without looking like a spammer or used car salesman is important.
Looking at selling products developed internally, affiliate marketing (pros and cons), and ad revenue...
I *really* like the idea of using a college. I've been to a few conferences at a local college and loved the feel vs hotel. I will check into DePaul.
One of the colleges might be nice. Especially if you partner with one of the student groups. I know at DePaul we had access to a very nice facility under the banner of student group. for free...
Oh my gosh I'm soooooo pumped about this! I just want to cast my vote for a session on monetization. Video/podcasting would be good, too. And from blog to book. Thank you and seriously, let me know what help you need planning. I'm right in chicago and I organize meetings and events regularly so I'm here to help! Thanks for this awesome idea!

I just found out about this conference and would really like to attend! Is there any way to still register? Please??? Thanks! I await your positive reply. :-)
